Chiropractic and chiropractors
The term chiropractic is roughly translated from the Greek words “cheir praxis” meaning to treat by hand. This effectively explains the method of care, with hands on therapy most notably in the manipulation of the spine, is central to the treatment. Back pain is perhaps the most common cause behind the use of the treatment. Chiropractic treatment focuses on the adjustment of the spine or various parts of the body with a view to relieving any alignment related problems and according to many practitioners, assisting in the efficiency of the body’s own healing powers.
It would be fair to say that chiropractors take a holistic approach to patient care, rejecting the use of medication or surgery in their treatment methods.
